Custom Woodworking in Raleigh, NC
CathcartCrafted is a custom woodworking and fabrication shop on East Whitaker Mill Road in Raleigh, North Carolina. We design, build and finish furniture, cabinetry and architectural millwork for homes, offices, churches and businesses across the Triangle — and we ship finished work nationwide.
Everything we sell, we build. There is no drop-shipping and no imported flat-pack hiding behind our name. Your project is drawn, milled, assembled, sanded and finished in our Raleigh shop by the same people who quoted it. When it leaves here it carries our family name on it, which is the only quality-control policy we have ever needed: if a job is worth doing, it is worth doing right, the first time.

You are talking directly to the shop that is going to cut the panels, and we can change dimensions, species, logo inlays, shelf heights and finishes because we own the machine that makes them.
25+ Years of Craftsmanship
CathcartCrafted was founded on more than 25 years of combined woodworking and fabrication experience. The Cathcart brothers grew up in Mercer County, Pennsylvania, in a family where building things was simply what you did — and they have been doing it ever since, long before either of them hung a sign on a shop door.
That background is why our work leans on real joinery and proper preparation instead of filler and shortcuts: correctly milled stock, joints that are cut to fit rather than forced, surfaces sanded through the grits, and finishes built up in coats. It is slower. It is also the reason our pieces are still tight and flat years after delivery.
The Raleigh shop is our headquarters, showroom and office, and it is where the great majority of our work is designed and built. A second family shop in western Pennsylvania gives us extra capacity for larger runs.

Serving Raleigh and the Triangle
We deliver and install throughout Wake County and the greater Triangle, including Raleigh, Cary, Durham, Chapel Hill, Apex, Morrisville, Holly Springs, Fuquay-Varina, Garner, Clayton, Knightdale, Wendell, Zebulon, Wake Forest, Rolesville, Youngsville, Research Triangle Park, Pittsboro and Sanford. Larger commercial pieces ship by LTL freight and white-glove delivery to the lower 48; small items ship UPS and FedEx. Shop pickup is always welcome.

How long does a custom piece take?
It depends on scope, species availability and finish schedule. Most quotes go out within 1–2 business days and include a realistic build window before you pay anything. Rush work is sometimes possible — ask.
Do you ship outside North Carolina?
Yes. We self-deliver locally in the Triangle, ship larger pieces by LTL freight and white-glove carrier to the lower 48, and send smaller items via UPS and FedEx. Alaska, Hawaii and international shipments are quoted individually.
